TECHNOLOGIES
CAD/CAM Dentistry is the latest advancement in dental technology. It is using Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing to make several restorations such as crowns, inlays, veneers and dental implants crowns. Dental software aids the dentist by taking image scans and acting as a digital impression. The data gathered by this image creates a 3D replacement part for the missing areas in the mouth, a virtual restoration. This means quick and accurate insertion, custom fit medical-grade titanium or zirconia abutments. All of this provides the best possible integration with the implant fixture. The CAD/CAM technology allows for more precise treatment planning and prosthetic design as well as reduction in laboratory time.
DIGITAL, CEPHALOMETRIC X-RAY AND DIGITAL VOLUME TOMOGRAPHY
Digital X-rays are faster and contain less radiation than traditional X-rays. When a patient has a digital X-ray done, the image appears on the computer in a matter of seconds. Our dentist can zoom into the image to better assess and educate the patient regarding their oral health. Digital X-rays are also less harmful for patients as they contain up to 90% less radiation compared to traditional X-rays.
Digital charts are an integrated part of our practice management system. Our paperless system delivers electronic charting, digital imaging and enhanced case presentation where it is needed most... at chair side. Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and prevention services. Advance image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows our doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.
The Cephalometric X-ray is a unique tool, which enables the dentist to capture a complete radiographic image of the side of the face. Cephalometric X-rays are extraoral, meaning that no plates or film are ins erted inside the mouth. Cephalometric and panoramic X-rays display the nasal and sinus passages, which are missed by intraoral bitewing X-rays.
Cephalometric X-rays are not as common as “full sets” or bitewing X-rays, but they serve several important functions (provide views of the side profile of the face, provide views of the jaw in relation to the cheekbone, provide information about “bad bites” or malocclusions, allow measurement of the teeth, identify fractures and other injuries to the teeth and jawbone, fssists in orthodontic planning) In contrast to conventional x-ray photos, Digital Volume Tomography facilitates further diagnoses, particularly within implantology. Using the 3-dimensional depiction of the condition of еру teeth and jaw, our dentist can determine the perfect positioning for the implant even before the procedure.
FLAT SCREEN MONITORS & HD TELEVISIONS
Our flat screen monitors and HD televisions allow doctor to see, with perfect clarity, the current state of your dental health. Flat screen monitors make it easy for our doctor to display solutions to the dental health using simple explanations and clear images - while out HD televisions provide with entertainment as our dental procedures are performed.
LOW TEMPERATURE PLASMA STERILIZER
The advantages of gas plasma sterilization include its ability to provide safe, non-toxic, dry, low- temperature sterilization in about one hour. Thereafter, all our instruments are protectively vacuumed packaged until required. Low Temperature Plasma is the most advanced sterilization technology available which offers highest sterilization efficacy without any toxic byproducts while preventing any damage to delicate medical equipment.
DIGITAL INTRAORAL PHOSPHOR PLATE X-RAY DENTAL SYSTEM
Thin, flexible, cordless digital plate advance the state of the art by removing the bulk, enabling easier placement and access to more difficult areas of the mouth. Diagnostic abilities increase. Radiographs become more comfortable for the patients. With Digital intraoral phosphor plate our dentist can capture 100% of the images, ensuring complete diagnosis, helping patients understand and receive the treatment they need. Intraoral phosphor plates are thin for added patient comfort and images are ready in just a few seconds.
PORTABLE DENTAL X-RAY UNIT
Portable dental x-ray unit is located in every treatment room. The device is small, light and nearly no radiation. The dentist can produce an x-ray image directly in the chair with minimal radiation. The image appears digitally on the screen. The device mainly suitable for oral pre-treatment diagnosis of internal organization structure and root depth and so on, is indispensable in daily life clinic, especially for dental implant surgery.
ENDODONTIC EQUIPMENTS
Advances in technology has now enabled root canal treatment to be treated more accurately and precisely:
Endodontic Microscope
The ultramodern technology incorporated in the fiber optic illumination guarantees a totally homogeneous field of illumination with unparalleled intensity 5 magnification steps – fr om low-power viewing to examination of even the smallest detail. High-intensity, cold light illumination allows viewing of deep, narrow root canals that is especially useful for complicated root canal treatments.
Adaptive Apex Locator is an electronic device used in endodontics determine the position of the apical constriction and thus determine the length of the root canal space. Adaptive Apex Locator overcomes as the disadvantages of the popular apex locators 4th generation – low accuracy on working in wet canals, as well the disadvantages of devices V th generation – difficulty on working in dry canals and necessarily of compulsory, additional wetting. Adaptive Apex Locator continuously defines humidity of the canal and immediately adapts for dry or wet canal. On this way is possible to be measured as in dry and in additional wetted canals as well, canals with blood or exudates, canals with still not-extirpated pulp.
Endodontic Micromotor
It` s a device used to drill and measures the rotation speed as well as torque levels during root canal treatments. An auto reverse function activates when the present torque level has been exceeded. The motor reacts when load reaches the preset level of torque. Endo-Mate's torque control system combined with the Apex Locator allows dentists and dental specialists to perform safe and more accurate root canal preparation.
INTRAORAL CAMERA
The intraoral camera is a tool that our dentists use to gain precise and well-defined pictures of hard to see places within a patient’s mouth. The camera helps with the diagnosis and also allows dentist to show these images to patients while assessing and educating the patient’s needs. This new form of technology allows dentist to conduct a thorough checkup of your mouth and better assess their patient’s oral care needs. Intraoral cameras are small and take pictures at 10x magnification.
DENTAL DIODE LASER
Diode lasers are ideal for procedures involving cutting or contouring soft tissue. Diode lasers are capable of creating precision cuts in gingiva and other soft tissues while also eliminating bleeding at the site and reducing the healing time for the patient. Soft tissue lasers are also ideal for troughing around preparations, sterilizing endodontic canals, treating periodontal disease and tooth whitening.
Fight the bacteria that cause inflammation with gentle laser light and so guarantee the success of a periodontal, peri-implant or root canal treatment.
Applications: Surgery (gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, abscess opening), Implantology (implant exposure, Peri-implantitis), Laser-Bleaching (flash activation of O2radicals, optimum treatment time, gentle treatment, better results), Endodontics (canal disinfection, necrosis treatment), Periodontology (pocket disinfection, removal of granulation tissue), Laser therapy (Pain therapy (general), Herpes, TMJ disorders)
SMART-JECT AUTOINJECTOR
Reduces the pain to a minimum with using the low doses of anesthetic agent.
DENTAL DIGITAL SHADE GUIDE
This is one of the most advanced shadiest measuring units. All natural tooth shades are systematically determined and completely reproduced. The digital shade guide which delivers the fastest (within a few seconds), easiest way to choose the colour of the teeth. To make the tooth filling or porcelain crown exactly the colour of the patient`s teeth. Also applicable for whitening purpose color comparison before and after whitening.
BOX TECHNIQUE
Bone regeneration in the field of dentistry has become a topic of great interest, especially in cases where it determines a constraint to the implant rehabilitation. It is an application which enables implanting in those patients in whom there is a serious resorption in jaw bones. In this technique, there is no need to obtain bone fr om the patient and special ready bone materials are used instead. In the thinning parts of the jaw bone, a wall is created by self-disappearing materials and it is filled in with bone powder. In this way, no need remains for removing them in a second surgery and an implantable bone is generated in the end of a suitable time period.
Why Box technique?
1-It is the first aesthetically guided technique.2-It allows restoring lost bone volume wh ere aesthetic requires.
3-It uses only absorbable materials thermoplastic transparent, loads resistant.
4-It does not require bone grafting to the patient.
5-It allows a quick and easy transfer of implant placement.
6-It offers a reduced surgical impact compared to other techniques.
ZYGOMATIC (CHEEKBONE) IMPLANTS
The advanced surgical technique enabling fixed denture in the case of bone deficiency. When sufficient bone is not available for inserting an implant into the maxillae, implant treatments can still be applied thanks to special implants ins erted in to the zygomatic bone (cheekbone). Zygomatic implants avoid grafting and sinus lift procedures and therefore contribute to a shorter and more comfortable treatment. Further indications for zygomatic implants include failed conventional implant placement, failed sinus augmentation or grafting procedures, rehabilitation after tumor and trauma resections.
Zygomatic implants are developed to be used in those maxillae that involve an advanced level of bone desorption and in which a sinus lift operation or bone grafts cannot be applied. This also eliminates the waiting time period of about 6 months after a sinus lift operation. Insertion of implants without applying such advanced surgeries both shortens the treatment time and also enables an easy application of the procedures. If it is possible to insert one zygomatic implant each to the right and left sides in the maxilla and normal implants on the front side of the jaw, dentures can be made on the same day in which those implants are inserted. In this way, it becomes possible to make dentures rapidly and reliably even in those patients who suffer excessive loss of bone.
ALL-ON-4 DENTAL IMPLANTS
All-on-4 dental implants is a revolutionary approach to implants pioneered over a decade ago. Placing a titanium implant in the jaw is a quick, minimally invasive procedure that provides a strong foundation for replacement teeth and helps stabilize bone levels-keeping the jaw healthy. But for patients who lack bone mass, placing only four implants, tilting the two posterior ones, so even those patients with virtually no bone can have a secure (non-removable) full upper and/or lower se t of teeth. The process of replacing these teeth with traditional implants used to take a number of weeks and months, but the all-on-4 can be fitted in just a few days. An all-on-4 dental implant can also be used when bone deficiencies in the patient's jaw do not allow for traditional implants to be inserted, also eliminating the need for a bone graft procedure. For many patients with dentures, it used to be the case that the jaw was unable to support a full row of teeth, but all-on-4 provides a full and permanent alternative. Using only highly biocompatible materials, such as titanium and ceramics, the All-on-4 Ceramic Bridge technique allows not only the individual rehabilitation of each tooth but the rehabilitation of the soft tissues (gums) as well. This is why All-on-4 Ceramic Bridge is unique. Conceived to support individual ceramic crowns, simulates perfectly the natural teeth, and repairs it (if necessary) what becomes extraordinarily easy. It also improves phonetics and chewing functions, and it is highly hygienic.
IMMEDIATE IMPLANT PLACEMENT AFTER EXTRACTION
Another surgical advancement that we can confidently provide you with is the Immediate Implant-Placement right after a Tooth Extraction Procedure. This furtherance in implant dentistry allows our dentist to aptly place an implant unit at the same time as tooth extraction – further cutting-down the number of visits and procedures for dental implant treatment. Traditional procedures usually require 3 months of adequate healing period prior to implant unit placement. With the Immediate Implant-Placement procedure, the extraction procedure and implant unit placement are combined in a single appointment; hence, bringing closer to bringing back your smile in a shorter span of time.
SINUS LIFTING
Sinuses are a group of air-filled spaces that surround the right and left part of nasal cavity (maxillary sinuses) in the upper jaw. These hollow spaces expand in volume due to teeth losses which prevent the placement of implants onto these toothless areas under sinuses. Therefore, these spaces are filled with bone grafts for transforming the sinus cavities to adequate bone for the placement of implants. Sinus lift is applicable when insufficient bone quantity arises from the expansion of the maxillary sinus in the upper jaw wh ere posterior teeth are located. Sinus lifting process is a painless application that takes an average 15 to 20 minutes with a local anesthesia. By patients with adequate bone volume it is possible to place implants in the same session, which extends the processing time about 4-5 minutes.
BONE GRAFTING
Bone grafting is applied to the patient’s jawbone to increase the bone material if there isn’t enough bone material. Reinforcing the implant treatment there must have enough bone material in the jaw bone. If there is an extracted or cracked tooth (or teeth) in that part of the jaw and not any implicated prosthesis in the time, it causes bone loss. Therefore it is necessary to increase the bone level. If there is little bone loss while adding bone graft it can be inserted the implant at the same time. Treatments of various natural materials derived from human bone tissue grafts have been fitted to the granules of the bones are placed in the patient's jawbone. After 3-6 months of healing period, the crowns are inserted on the implants.
CYST OPERATIONS
A cyst can form in any part of the jaw and it can quickly expand, damaging a lot of jaw bone in the process. A cyst is a closed sac and it may contain air, fluids, or semi-solid material. A collection of pus is called an abscess. Once formed, a cyst may have to be removed through surgery.
The most common and beneficial treatment for cysts is excision or removal of the cyst. Before removing the cyst, the dentist or oral surgeon generally performs a biopsy, which involves the removal of a small portion or piece of tissue from the questionable cyst. The tissue sample is then sent to a laboratory wh ere examination and analysis will be performed. Cysts in mouth commonly form around the wisdom teeth, around impacted wisdom teeth, and in the pulp of teeth, and while the cyst itself might be benign, or harmless, dentists and oral surgeons most frequently suggest their removal before surrounding tissues or bone structures are damaged. Cyst operations are generally performed under local anesthesia, meaning the patient is awake during the procedure. In most cases, cysts are removed quickly and efficiently in under an hour. Large cysts a require more detailed or extensive surgery, which may or may not require bone reconstruction.
NITROUS OXIDE AND (INTRAVENOUS) IV SEDATION
Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, can calm a patient down to a point that they are relaxed but can still interact with their dentist. On the other hand, IV sedation puts a patient to sleep completely so that they are unaware of what happened during their dental session. This is usually recommended for patients who are fearful of going to the dentist or for procedures that are painful such as wisdom teeth extraction.
DENTAL TREATMENT UNDER GENERAL ANESTHETIC
General anesthesia is the name assigned to preparing a patient for surgery in a fully asleep status with the application of intravenous drugs and gas. It is an application which is required to be performed in hospital conditions. We are very excited to offer this level of anesthesia care while still maintaining the highest levels of care and quality dental care. Specifically at the Liv Dental Clinic, we offer patients tested and successful concepts for full dental and implantological restoration, rehabilitation or surgical interventions of all kind in total anaesthesia and venous full anaesthesia: "Sleep – wake up – done!" This usually permits painless and stress-free, as well as time-saving performance of many unpleasant appointments that may cause anxiety or have been rescheduled often in a single treatment under anaesthesia. Both inpatient and outpatient solutions possible.
General anesthesia is recommended for:
• Special needs patients
• Patients with complex medical issues
• Patients who are unable to cooperate with treatment
• overwhelmingly fearful patients
• Patients with a grossly hyperactive gag reflex
• Patients who have had bad reactions to/with local anesthesia
• Very long, extensive or difficult procedures
• When comfort is unavailable by other means
